Away, under the moon.

I'm quite sad about the fact that I haven't blogged in what feels like forever, but I started school again about two weeks ago and grade eleven has been pretty busy so far so unfortunately blogging shall have to take a slight backseat for now.  I won't bore you with the details of homework and piles of reading I still have to do but I thought I'd quickly share this song I've been listening to on repeat this past week.

I promise I'll be back soon!

Movies.

A few days ago I went to watch The Perks of Being a Wallflower with my friend Caitlin.  It made us both laugh and cry and we both left eager to read the book.  For those that don’t know, the story is about an introverted teenage boy, who struggles with mental problems, as he starts his first year of high school- I know that doesn’t explain much but I really don’t want to give anything away.  Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Paul Rudd play the three main characters.  It’s been a while since I’ve seen such a good movie at the cinema and so my faith in new films has been restored.

This movie has definitely made it onto my list of favorites and I thought why not share them with you.  So without further ado, and in no particular order, here are some of my favorite movies {so far}:

1. 500 Days of Summer

2. It's Kind of a Funny Story

3. Beginners

4. Ceremony

5. Ruby Sparks

6. The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Make your own collar.

As you may have seen in previous posts I really like detachable collars.  So after seeing this idea on Rookie I decided it would definitely be worth a try.

You'll need:
-an old collared shirt
-scissors

Lay the shirt out on a flat surface and cut along the dotted line as shown in the picture below.

You should be left with this.

Taadaa!

I also made this one.

They're super easy to make so why not give it a try yourself?

Next on our trip we went to Hartford House to visit my mom's cousin and have tea.  It's in a super pretty area and the tea and scones were delicious.

Holiday Adventures- Nelson Mandela Capture Site.

Next on our trip we stopped at the Nelson Mandela Capture Site to visit the museum and take a look at the sculpture by artist Marco Cianfanelli.  The information and quotes displayed in the museum were
very interesting and the sculpture itself really is amazing and definitely worth the visit.

Holiday Adventures- Howick.

Today we got back from being away on holiday.  We've been to a couple places over the last week or two so I thought I'd share them in a little four or five part series of photo's that I took while I was away. This holiday was one of the first opportunities I had to use my new lens that I got as a Christmas present and I have really enjoyed using it.  So without further ado, here are some pictures I took in Howick on the first part of our trip!
