Rainbow cupcakes.
Today Jade came over and we made rainbow cupcakes. We used a normal cupcake recipe and before baking we divided the batter into four bowls and added food colouring to each one. We then layered the four types of batter into cupcake cases, baked them and finished them off with butter icing.
Jade taught me how to ice with piping bags.
The inside of the cupcakes.
Then we drank tea and ate them!

Heels and Hives.
Last weekend was a friend's sixteenth birthday party. It was a super cute tea party with the sweetest decorations, delicious cake pops, macrons and red velvet cupcakes. We ate ourselves to a standstill, played with the helium balloons and took a lot of pictures. All in all it was a very entertaining and fun afternoon.
Sohini. As usual.

Exploding Cakes.
For nearly four hours this afternoon, two friends and I have baked and iced this monster cake. It's supposed to be a fun spin on the traditional paper macho model volcano but this was no easy Geography project. Turns out it can be quite a mission to get a cake to stay upright but many, many skewers, some last minute cake surgery and a whole lot of icing later it's finished. And we're utterly exhausted.
The front. (It's supposed to be showing what the inside looks like)
The back.
Some lava.

Sunday afternoons.
Last week Sunday the cameras and heels came out for a high tea to say farewell to the two Scottish exchange students that have been staying with our friends for the past couple of weeks. It's been lovely getting to know them both and they will be missed. It was a fun afternoon filled with delicious food, tea and laughs. Being the genius that I am, I managed to leave my camera at home, so a big thanks to Cath for letting me use some of her pictures.
