Away, under the moon.

I'm quite sad about the fact that I haven't blogged in what feels like forever, but I started school again about two weeks ago and grade eleven has been pretty busy so far so unfortunately blogging shall have to take a slight backseat for now.  I won't bore you with the details of homework and piles of reading I still have to do but I thought I'd quickly share this song I've been listening to on repeat this past week.

I promise I'll be back soon!

F R E E D O M

So today I can truly say that exams are over for at least another six months.  Yeaaaah.  I spent the afternoon working on my tan and look forward to a weekend of doing whatever I want.  I'm so excited for the holidays that I've even compiled a list of everything I want to do in the next few weeks and for the rest of the holidays.  A few of my holiday goals include:

1.  Baking a rainbow cake.
2.  Shopping.
3.  Reading at least two books.
4.  Sewing.
5.  Framing some stuff for my room.
6.  Seeing friends.
7.  Re-watching Grey's Anatomy and Friends from the beginning.
8.  Having my eyes tested- this is very necessary:(
9.  Learn more about my camera and get some more use out of it.
10. Finding a ukelele.
11. Learning new songs on guitar.

I'll be sure to blog about it all, but for now I think I'll curl up in bed with a cup of tea and watch the Mumford and Sons documentary I bought yesterday.  Happiness.

Study ingredients.

I feel as though I've spent the last month holed up in my room studying, however it's only been a week and so far I've only written three exams- only nine more to go I guess:( Anyway, I'm not a very fussy person when it comes to studying- my only rules are that there has to be snacks and music.  I know that some people can find both of these things distracting when learning but I find they help me to not be distracted by other thing. Ahem, internet.  So while I take a study break I thought I'd share one of the playlists, found on 8tracks, that I've been listening to for past hour while trying absorb information on how to measure the area of blahblahblah.  Let's just say if you ever build a pyramid in your garden and need to know it's volume, you can call me.

Now it's time for me to go back to the land of quadrilaterals and endless cups of tea.  Meh, that sounds lame but to be perfectly honest I don't really have the motivation to do anything about it.

Vinyl.

For a while now I've been thinking about how amazingly cool it would be to have a record player.  In fact I've even bought some records before, despite not having anything to play them on and have used them to decorate my room.  Anyway this changed recently when my grandad said that I could have his old record player.  I was as excited as a five year old on Christmas Day and rushed home to set it up.  Considering it's over 40 years old it still works really well.  My grandparents also passed on their record collection to me and so the sounds of Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Queen have been filling the house since Thursday.

I also had a chance to buy a few records from the SPCA Kloof secondhand shop.  It's basically a garage with roof to floor shelves of records ranging from R5 to R20.  It's like record heaven.  I also bought another from the iheart market this morning.  They cost more around R50 but they are in slightly better shape.

Why hello there winter.

The weather really seems to have turned much colder this weekend and so I've been spending mine in bed  reading, listening to Ben Howard and Florence and the Machine, eating smores, drinking tea and generally doing a fantastic job of lazing around.  Seeing as though there's clearly not a whole lot going on in my life at the moment I thought I'd share some of the beautiful pictures I've found recently on weheartit.
